Lent


Growing up Catholic, lent was always a big deal. Giving something up was always a hot topic when I was in grade school, usually it was candy or pop or for Joey in 3rd grade, showering. (Oh the memories) Giving up candy always made Easter morning a good one, hello sugar high. 

As I have gotten older I have taken the 40 days of Lent to make postitve changes. This year I have chosen to focus on my weight loss journey, healthy eating and about friendships, healthy friendships. 

1. 80 miles in 40 days
2. Simply Filling and/or 100% tracking 
3. Reconnect with old friends and people who are important to me 
4. No Binging 
5. No meat on Fridays

Simply Filling

I did simply filling last week and I lost 6.9lbs. 

Besides losing an awesome amount of weight in a week, I really enjoyed the foods I was eating. I was rarely hungry. I felt great. 

I have always thought that one of WW biggest flaws was not paying attention to what we are exactly eating. The chemical and processed foods were low on points but not exactly healthy. With simply filling I was paying attention to eating clean and  actually eating healthy. 

I noticed after a few days that my skin looked better. And I can't tell you how good I felt over the week. I felt like I had more energy. 

I am going to continue the simply filling plan and see how it goes. I have enjoyed learning about what I am eating and also eating a variety of foods.

Yummy Cheerios treats



This is one of my new fav treats! I was having a difficult time finding snack options that were simply filling. I came across this recipe on Pinterest. Some of my lovely #wwsendtheloveteamslim ladies came up with some yummy variations. Sweet & Salty, all simply filling. 

Ranch cheerios 
3tbsp egg whites 
1 1/2tbsp hidden valley ranch 
3c Cheerios   


Cinnamon Cheerios
1 egg white 
1-2tbsp stevia in the raw  
1/2 tbsp cinnamon 
3c Cheerios 



Dill-Ranch Cheerios 
1 egg white 
1tsp dill 
1 tbsp hidden valley ranch mix 
1-11/2 tsp garlic powder 
3c Cheerios 


Directions: 

Preheat oven to 325 
Whisk egg whites until foamy. Stir in spices. Stir in cheerios. Coat a large cookie sheet with cooking spray (I used Pam coconut oil spray) and spread mixture on it. Place in oven, stirring ever 5 minutes for 15-20 mins 

Let cool and serve. 

They are delicious! I will post more recipes when I try new ones!
